The Perch is a family-owned guest cottage nestled in the mountains of Stony Hill. We are the perfect escape offering the best of both worlds - a serene, whimsical cottage close enough to the city to give you easy access to major landmarks, but far enough to avoid the heat and the hustle. So whether you come to Jamaica desiring a rustic, local experience or a well-appointed, exclusive, quiet base from which to operate, The Perch is ideal. Our guests are often referrals.
We pride ourselves on the beauty of the nature that surrounds us. Our quaint cottage is perched on a lush, verdant mountainside. You will be surrounded by a beautiful garden that is home to an array of exotic plants and several species of birds chirping and fluttering through the trees. In fact, we have welcomed birdwatchers from near and far who enjoy our nature-filled, bird-friendly escape. The Perch has breathtaking views of the mountains, and your cottage is outfitted with large windows to allow you to take it all in. Wake up to fresh air and a crisp breeze, mist rolling over the hills and settling in the valley, and an orchestra of island sounds - from crickets to woodpeckers. Enjoy blue mountain coffee on your private balcony overlooking a large expanse of nature, or a glass of wine under Kingston's magical sunset.
Our cottage is a one bedroom, self-contained unit with all the comforts of home, including a queen bed, sitting area and table, kitchenette with a fridge and cutlery, and a full bathroom. Your bathroom wall is a full-length, landscape window that faces a secluded, lush hillside. Your room leads straight out to your private balcony, which has seating for two. And there is ample space on the premises for parking your car.
We endeavor to treat our guests with true Jamaican hospitality, but offer you privacy to make you feel truly at home. We provide a welcome basket with complimentary treats to get you settled in.

Stony Hill Square

The Perch is a 5 minute drive from the bustling Stony Hill Square, where you'll find the neighborhood supermarket, post office, police station and quintessential Jamaican bars serving up music and libations after the sun goes down.
Bob Marley Museum
Down the hill, about 40 minutes away from our property, is the Bob Marley Museum - a space dedicated to the life and work of the legendary musician. This museum was actually the former residence of Bob and a popular stop for visitors to the island.
Hellshire Beach
A must-visit for seafood lovers, Hellshire Beach is located about 1.5 hours away from The Perch, and is home to some of the most scrumptious seafood, freshly caught and served up oceanside in rustic little huts along the shoreline.
Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountain Range is home to some of the world's best coffee. About a 2-hour car ride away from the property, a hike up to Blue Mountain is a favorite for the more active adventurers.
Ocho Rios
If you have time to spare, take a day trip to Ocho Rios, one of our most popular tourist destinations on the north coast. Ocho Rios is a 2.5 hour drive away from our property.
Portland
Arguably one of the most beautiful parts of the island and perhaps less traversed by tourists, Portland is only two hours away by car. You will enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches and lush Jamaican landscapes.
